HS50 intake manifold

i am installing a NOS HS50 engine that has a straight intake with a bowl type carb the stock H40 had a straight intake with a diaphragm carb should I expect problems and why did they switch manifolds other than the carb sitting straight up any body have any info ? mmurffy01@hotmail.com

You are putting a regular motor into a titled frame??

I would venture to guess, that laying the engine on it's side, makes the air flow into the engine in a strait line, as where tipping it strait up, requires pulling the air uphill, which could slow ya down like %.004 :laugh:

I have ran a bowl carb at an angle.. If the bowl gasket is good, and the float is working, it should work fine..

you mean running it at an angle like the old rupps? for that, the reason si that they make more torq/power at the angle, my guess is it has to go with gravity.

my go kart is the same way.... i think either way it's what i was told and they have been mounting them at an angle for years.
