Idle to high?

#1
Hey guys, just got my bike working again after I wrecked it, but now it idles way to high so when it's just siting there I have to hold the brake. Any ideas?

Sounds like something may have gotten bent. If you can't adjust the idle speed with the idle set screw/stop then check all the linkages for binding, etc. and see if something is out of place or disconnected.

Is the governor still hooked up and functioning? It may be forcing it to run too high at idle.
Check your return springs/governor springs.
Check the throttle cable adjustment.
Try disconnecting the throttle cable and see if it'll idle.
Then disconnect all the other linkages and see if you can make it idle by manually holding it against the idle stop/set screw. (don't over rev the engine)

Photos or a brief video would help eliminate the potential problem.

The governor has been completely removed, and I just replaced the throttle cable, and I've already tried to adjust the idle set screw. Everything looks good to me. 079.jpg 080.jpg

Check all, your carb and intake gaskets... If what you said and everything looks good... A air leak on the intake side will make for a high idle...
