i have (had) both bikes. Though the Duster is probably one of the best 1970s choppers in terms of looks/handling, it's still a chopper. Meaning it's a freaking death trap. Add to that if you're an adult, it's a hard fit. The Blue Angel on the other hand, is a *real* mini bike (mini cycle) from 1972. The Speedway 14" wheel bikes are amazing even when compared to motorcycles. Assuming it has a 9 tooth jackshaft sprocket, it kicks some butt even for adults, and handles like a dream for kids and adults alike. There is no question which is the better bike, in 1972, or now. http://www.pinrepair.com/minibikes/p/speedway1972blueangel_mine7.jpg http://www.pinrepair.com/minibikes/p/jcpenney_dusterchopper_mine1.jpg

I wish I'd had a chance to ride the Duster when I was 12. At 6 ft and 175lbs it's just to small to ride and control well over rough terrain (you kind of just get a tight grip and point it where you want to go) but a 12 yr old on a road would have a gas. I don't know what the speedway would have been like for a twelve yr old probably as outstanding as it is for 68 yr old.
I'd choose the Speedway if I was 12 years old. I like Cats and the Duster Chopper but I think the Speedway looks better and would be more fun and safe to ride on!
