I'm always starting very boring threads. I appreciate your patience . . .
I'm redoing the ignition on an HS40 55388C for a Rupp Roadster; thorough cleaning, new coil, points, condenser. The head of the screw holding the points in is shot. I don't see one in the parts list for this engine. Anyone know where I can get a good replacement?
To time the ignition on this engine the manual says to use a dial indicator that measures the BTDC in inches. While I have the head off can I do it with a steel ruler instead of this gauge? Anyone done it before with a ruler straight on the piston?
Thanks a lot for your help!!
