Lil Indian Questions ....

#26
Okay guys, I just gotta ask... How do you ride these little things? I just found out after a bunch of digging and study that the strange little bike I picked up at a salvage yard is indeed a Lil' Indian. Cool! Love the way they look, but damn this thing is tiny! I thought my old Cat 250 was small, but damn!
So here is the question - How am I gonna fold up my 6' 190 lbs frame to ride around on this thing? Any hints to find more room without changing the general package too much? I can't be the only one...
Thanks, Chip

Chip, you're right..........that just won't work for you. I'll take it off your hands. In fact I'll take it for nothing and pay half the shipping.

Nice try Sunnyknoll!
I think this little guy is going to stay with me. It's corrupted enough that it won't be strict resto, so it'll be the Lil hotrod. I ordered a set of ultra light Van K aluminum 5" wheel halfs yesterday, aluminum hubs, and I think it will get an old mechanical disc brake AirHeart Caliper that I have left over from a chopper project from years ago. I'm trying right now to decide whether it gets one of my 2 1/2 horse Briggs that I have laying around, or I go with my Jacobson 321 2 stroke if nothing but for the noise factor.

By the way, the "you guys practicing for the circus?" line came from a discussion with a Phoenix police officer at a mini bike day we held back on labor day. There is a video of my discussion with the officer on the Arizona Vintage Mini Bike facebook page, but unfortunately no audio... My he-man tough guy friends were all running away from the cops as I was pleading our case!

AirHeart brakes are still alive and with us! I was in Tempe AZ at their facility there about ten years ago and picked this caliper up in person. They have since moved up to Minnesota, but just google them and you can find them pretty easily.

Good deal, I promised my last Lil Indian Disc brake and 4 inch mag wheels to that Bikerguy in California so he doesn't kill his liver anymore.

If there is any interest on this thread I'll post a couple pictures of my AirHeart caliper/disc set up on my Lil' Indian. Otherwise, would I be better off to start a new thread?
