minibike fork

i wondering can the fake front springs on the alexander reynolds minibike be take apart and replaced. i have my frame painted but not my fork because i want to know if the front springs come off or do i need to tape them off. they are dont shine any more anyways.

just tape them off. it's easier and quicker than removing them.

They should twist out, and twist back in, are you sur they're fake?

Those forks should be functional. you may have to use a little PB blaster to get them to slide. maybe even use a block of wood on the bottom and tap with a hammer to break them loose.

i guess they are real but need to be loosen up. they are rusty and i want them to shine.

Bang them on the ground a few times, that should loosen the tines, then think of the spring as a big screw, unscrew the spring out of the spring holder, and take a wire wheel to the springs, if they don't shine after that, take the springs to a cromer, the whole fork will cost about $250.00, at least that was the estimate that I got from a local here.

thanks will try that out and see what i can do. also my handle bars are not shinny anymore. nobody sells just handle bars. i will post pictures of them today.
