That was a cheap shot. The kid asked a legitimate question and does not
deserve to be answered like that. Seems to me jesse 8931 that you're one
of those people who walk around with "the easy assurance of the unconsciously
ignorant"............Ogygopsis

It looks like you're stuck with what you have. The cam, valve springs, and carb won't let you do more than you're doing now. Even if you got a few more RPMs,you probably wouldn't be making much more power due to valves floating. Hey cheap shot artists,:thefinger: take it easy on the kid. At least he's not out smoking crack and robbing your grandmother.

The only sure way of getting more RPM without spending any money at all is to ride down a hill. The steeper the hill the more you get.:doah:

In context his question is rediculous, because on another thread he asked, "what are valve springs?"

Dude - you need to go to the library and get a couple of basic books on gasoline engines and study up on 4 stroke engines....this isn't your local government school with social promotion policies...folks here will help if you do your part...

The first rules of hot rodding are: 1. know how the systems work, and 2. make sure the stock systems are adjusted to work to their highest ability.

By age 10, I had educated myself about 4 stroke engine theory, basic repair and basic hot rod techniques....so it ain't hard...

I didnt need to have that comment " cant you go away" I just asked a F#CKIN question for help i dont know everything., and neither do you!

So please dont leave me mean comments when i'm askin for help Jesse what ever.

OK i'll answer his question.. no you cannot spin your engine any faster without performance parts... even if you find a way, you'll blow your engine and probibly send a rod right where you don't want a rod to be. in my opinion its unsafe to run ANY engine ungoverned without strenghend parts like rods, counterweights, flywheels, and cranks.

I keep thinking a guy could just increase the compression, and get more torque, and forget about more RPM. Sure, the little engine would be giving off more heat, but they are fan cooled and there shouldn't be any problem. So the bottom line would be an engine that would pull a taller gear without floating valves or blowing the rod. Since I was 14 we knew the quickest, cheapest and easiest way to make a Chevy straight 6 or a Flathead Ford 8 go MUCH faster was to simply mill the head.

As for cheap shots in this Forum: There is absolutely NO excuse for rudeness to anyone. It seems to me that some of the above contrbutors were saying that it is O.K. and acceptable to be a jerk to someone if that person had not yet read the proper books! The logic of that proposition escapes me.

Isn't the idea of a forum to share knowledge? If a pre requisite is to study, and obtain the knowledge, then why stop in here? Everyone starts with zero, it's how much you can learn, then pass on that counts. "The only stupid question is the one unasked..."

Hey hey break it up guys.

You have to remember not everyone knows about small engines. Some of the forum members are actually young kids that are still in school learning.

...and some are old guys... who are still in school, learning!

I heard this line awhile back and it is funny in a warped way. It is posted purely tongue in cheek, and no insult meant to anyone:
There are no stupid questions.... but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots!
