Mounting plate holes

OK so i measured the dimensions of an old 5 hp. clinton.
width= 2 and 3/4 inch
height= 6 inches.


could this be right?
these are the holes i have drilled in my mounting plate
and i need a new engine

The bolt pattern is the standard American on the Clintons, so you can replace it with just about anything. What are you doing with the Clinton? I maybe interested. :smile:

are you sure? engines such as?? and im selling it. it runs rough. the pull start has no recoil either.
