need help identifying this motor

am going to buy this motor but need to know what it is first if anyone can help let me know thanks 905147 580213

That's not a Briggs model number.

i will ask the guy to give me the #s again i have been looking for a few hours and the #s dont match up im sure your right

It could be something like an 095147 which would make it a 3.5 HP but the other numbers don't jive with Briggs numbers.

i know i was going crazy looking them up i contacted the guy to resend the #s thanks will update soon as i hear something

the guy read them to me from the engine here goes he says its an old motor and super clean 8b 905147 580213

Hi I am new on this site and this is my first post, but I think your engine looks a lot like one I have, which is a model 14b from late 50's. Yours is probably an 8B, I have the B&S serevice manual for this series engine I can email if you like, or it is available on the web as a free download but I didn't save the url.

thanks i passed on it but found out it was a 4hp had alot of trouble looking up the code

yeah, those older ones are hard to find info on, took me forever to figure out my model 14. Mine is 5.1 hp and I looked up the specs on that one and the bore is quite a bit smaller, I figured around 3hp. SMOKSTAK is a good website for guys that work on antique engines like this.
