I just got the set crew issue sorted and tried to go for a ride and now the bike wont rev properly and the carb started flooding again I'm siriosly getting sick of this carb. I've never had so much troble with a simple float ajustment with any other carb!

I haven't had time to sort out the carb issue so the bike wont make it to the mini bike throwdoun this weekend but I did just sort out some issues on 2 other bikes so I'll still have some nice bikes to ride this weekend. Im thinking of looking into some local atv repair shops for some help with this carb they must deal with similar carbs allot on dirtbikes and ATVs. I have a specific shop in mind that has been helpfull in the past on other projects, they might even be able to get this thing jetted right.

what's the tank off and what's the dimension's need one about that size for my bonanza like the build my next project is going to be a dirt track rupp seen a pic of a roadster never like that style rupp till I seen this one and now I want one think I already have a frame sitting at a buddy's he's been trying to sell me for 20 bucks so that's my next build. but just read your progress looks great man wish there was mini bike races around me. might try to start something up my self. I know there's a lot of ppl that would love a local event.

The tank is off an old and odd looking motor that I think is some varient of an early tecumseh 4hp. I picked it up cheep and was told it ran. I grabbed the tank for this project since the tank dosen't work with the frame I'm putting the motor in.

The tank is 8 1/2 inches long and 4 inches tall.

I used my old racing bike for the event and lost but had alot of fun.

This project is mostly complete with a few little things left to do, due to this I have time to start on a new project so im restarting an old one that got sidelined when I found out the motor I had was toast. My next project will be my Speedway Scorpion with an h70 as the motor. I started this years ago but never finished, so far the repair work to the frame is complete and I recently bought what I beleve to be a good motor. I'm going to start a new thread for this bike soon.

one posible final update before spring. I had the main jet way to rich and the bike woulden't rev up so I bought 3 leaner sizes to try. Im loosing the good tuning weather (to cold) so I may have to wait untill spring to try the new jets. If I get another halfway decent day that I have off I'll do some tuning but if not see you guys in the spring.

Its getting wormer again so im looking back into my projects. I just permenently mounted the clutch guard and im going to look at some rust issues inside the tank. I had to use a temporary hs50 plastic tank last year to get the bike running. I'll be cleaning the rust out of the tank and re installing it soon and replacing the fule petcock. This bike still had some carb float issues to straiten out and I'll be looking into turning the carb back like the world formula setup to get it more out of the way of my leg. If this carb won't stop giving me issues I may just source a world formula carb and intake to replace it.

I took a good look at the bike again today I seem to have solved my float issues but the motor is sputtering out at idle giving it a bit of choke make it run better so I think I need a richer idle jet, its currently a 25 so I might try a 26 or 27 and see if it runs better. I also think my gearing is a bit to high so I may swich to a lower one once I get this bike out for a good test run and can confirm how it pulls.

It seems Gomas Mini bike Massacre might be cansled this year to my plans to debue the bike there may be shot. so I guss the next event I could bring it to would be Windber. I should enter it into the mini bike show. I'll have to hurry to get it running right seeing as Windber is only a few weeks off.

This bike is driving me insane it just wont run! It'll fire and run once in as while on half or more throttle but cut out when I drop it to idle I tried swiching to a richer idle jet to no aval. I had the bike idling last year a bit but had flooding issues that I have since solved. I may have to seak some expert help to get this bike running right. maybe im still to lean ? but it wont idle on choke either.

I have a stock animal carb that I may be forced to switch it to. I'll loose some prformance but at least it would run.

This motor is a hand built monster that when running and geared correctly will blow any gost motor clean out of the water, I just need to work out the bugs. This bike is built for racing at events like gomas mini bike massacre and to win there I need all that power, a gost wont cut it. The bikes that win there have motors just as insane as mine.

I haven't looked at this project in a wile but I'll get back to it soon. The bike wasnt ready before Windber and Gomas mini bike massacre was canseled this year so I wasn't in a particular hury to get this beast running and I've had a few more pressing things to work on. We also had a horibly hot summer 90s for over 3 weeks strait (kind of hard to get motivated to work on stuff in those conditions) I got new main jets to try out for the bike.

Page 5 says you added a pulse pump.

Did you also add the 1.5 needle and seat? Pulse pump will push past the needle and drip fuel terrible without the smaller needle and seat. I ”modify“ them to fit carbs they were not even intended to fit. Solved fuel overflow on two different carburetors. 2A05E335-938C-4D60-9D0C-9D8A6423B483.png

I chose to remove the fule pump and run without it, the tank is high enough to not need it, the carb seems to not flood now. It took me a while to dial in the float hight, to much and it starves, to little and it floods, this carb is way to tochy! The idle jet seems perfect so I just need to dial in the main jet.

Out of curiosity would the smaller needle and seat make it easyer to get the float settings right even without the fule pump? also where do you get them?

The smaller 1.5 needle and seat will not affect the float height. And is not needed unless your running a pulse pump.

Make sure when you are adjusting that float it’s not scraping the edges of the bowl.

I just tried a stock animal carb on this motor and still coulden't get it started, I think my current issues are not carb related. I think im going to send this motor to a kart racing motor shop to have them figure this out for me.

This is the animal head with the port work completed. I may shave the head later but theirs no time right now so its going on as is and its getting a good cleaning first. and the second picture is the partly disassembled engine. it has the billet flywheel installed already.

This post... Billet flywheels.. You have to give it EVERYTHING you got to get that coil to fire with a minimum .30 coil gap. And your coil gap being any less with a billet flywheel will FRY the coil so I’m told. What do you have the coil gapped you now?
