Love vintage bikes with flat head engines. Working on a couple speedway green horns at the present. Trying to get a bike ready for the Mini Drome races in Detroit next summer. I'll add sum pics later.

Sweet.....Looking for the right motor. Would like a flat head but I don't know if they can compete against the over head valve motors?

Depends on how you build it. A couple guys run them with success. My buddy won it a couple times with a Wild Goose and a flatty 5hp.

That had to be a wild ride. Tecumseh or Briggs? I have a Tec HS50 a billet rod and a Dyno cam, I'm going to see if they all fit.. pull the governor off and see what happens.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say that the track will determine how fast you will go. It's pretty beat up and crumbling fast. Unless you have nerves of steel and balls of stone you won't be riding 60 mph around it.

Oh and by the way, Im not trying to deter you, its a great tine riding there. You just need to practice there a lot to learn the track

And don't follow Pat. He likes to take detours through the country side mid racing.

And mostly flat head Briggs. I took a few Tecs around there....but nothing major.

I'm going with a Speedway Green Horn 14" tires to help smooth out the bumps just need enough power to get them moving. To go 60 is scary fast on a straight. Pat that sounds like how they used to race in Nascar in the 50s & 60s.... now that's racing!
