what is the difference between a 3hp and 2 hp crakn and stroke and vs long stroke and short srtroke how do one tell the difference just but looking

Can you use a 2HP crank on a 3HP?

The connecting rods are different. The bore is the same but I don't know if the crank length and deck height would work. Why would you want to turn a 3hp motor into a 2hp? I think the 3hp are common and you should be able to find a 3hp crank.
