Otasco Flying-O mini bike

Well, I have had this thing for close to 20 years. My grandmother bought it for me at a garage sale when I was about 8-10 years old. This recently prompted me to build my own bike. Original plans were to fix this one up but I can't bring myself to mess with some Oklahoma nostalgia since OTASCO isn't around anymore.

That's an MTD western flyer, someone added the front foot bar, a very nice bike to ride, I wouldn't be worried about fixing it up, there's quite a few floating around.......................Tom.

Being that all over the bike it says OTASCO Flying O?
Apparently OTASCO sold MTD mini bikes, and put their stickers on them.

Yep, Flying O, I used to work for Otasco. Stores were mostly in Oklahoma. Most of our wheel goods were made by Murray MTD. Bikes, minis, mowers.

That Flying-O looks to be in fairly good condition...I think it could be cleaned up and restored as a survivor. The paint appears to be original and doesn't seem to be rusted except for some minor stuff on the hardware...which can be easily removed and restored.

I'd refurbish the engine and keep it original, too...just as you said...the nostalgia factor alone with a bike like this would make it worth saving.
