Piaggio scooter

Not something I would expect to find in Kerrville, TX. Wife had a business trip there last week so I drove. I was tooling around while she was working and I saw this scooter in the window of a, hole in the wall, Italian dessert restaurant in downtown Kerrville.
The store was closed so I didn't have a chance to talk to the owner, but I think it was made in the 60's. Old dog learns something new, imagine that.

Something tells me this baby has been built up some.
Check out that expansion chamber followed what looks like a SuperTrapp style pipe.
Lotta guys met their wives/mistress with a first ride on these scooters.
