Please Help ID Clutch

hey guys, found this clutch on ebay for $20, its 3/4" and #40/41/420 chain...

i have no clue what it is but there is no other deal like that anywhere else!

i took it apart to check if it was oiled, and it wasnt, so i oiled it.

thats what i was thinking too, but it said on ebay that it was:

It might be a hillard, they look similar, and I don't think any other clutches have a built in key.

I didnt know hillards look like that though, not extreme duty right?

This one is one piece not 2 seperate like a hillard i had before. It also has a spring in a circle as you can see, not the C clips.

Well its not a huge deal if i dont know what it is, just wondering. :thumbsup:

it was used. i sent it off to Briggs Boy and he set it up for me. the basket is a bit beat up looking but nothing really needs replacing. it was a definite score.

Anyone know if its reversible? I was going to run it with the sprocket against the engine. But im not 100% sure if thats the best way because i havent mounted my axle yet in still making bearing hangars.

I was planning to use it on my clone and this summer when i finish my tecumseh restore ill swap it.

I used it sprocket facing engine and no problems. I think im good.

Most (not all) clutches can be run both inboard, and outboard.

yeah, thanks, i just wasnt 100% sure since this clutch came with no info.

got about 3-4hrs on it and works good. havent even touched half of the pads yet.... its still getting broken in....
