Putting the Rupp back together and just generally cleaning all parts as I reinstall. On the TC pulleys should they retain a smooth finish on the belt riding surfaces, or should I "scuff" them. I've never had the pleasure of seeing one new in the box so I don't know how they come :smile: I will most likely pull out the blast cabinet and hit these (and other) parts. Dunno if I should stay away from those surfaces or not.

I don't think it would hurt to lightly blast the belt riding faces of the driver or driven units but I would stay away from the faces of the ramps on the driven half, and inside the driver unit.
And you should use the Comet dry film lube spray GP 730 A on the movable parts.

I have nos clutches on my rupp and they have a rough cast finish on them.
