Brake alternatives
I was NEVER satisfied with manual drum or disc brakes. The braking power is poor at best. I have a trail bronc with a gx 200 that I put a hand lever hydraulic brake caliper off a mini atv I found brand new off ebay. The brake rotor is on the jackshaft, I used 41 chain to the rear sprocket and it is pretty bullet proof. Stops on a dime! I have a retek cheetah I am doing now(BIG tire machine) and it had a manual(cable operated) rear disc brake. Again I bought the same ATV brake assy. off ebay(Less than $50.00) and fabricated a different caliper mounting bracket so I can put the machine back to bone stock if needed. I also had to purchase a longer brake hose for this application(LinesPro off ebay). Long story short, a little fabrication and unbeatable stopping power. No Regrets!
