From the info I can locate, the alsport SL was 48 state legal. The popular science article lists New Mexico as 1 that was illegal but what other state? Steve? Any ideas. I knew people that had a SL here so I dont think its jersey.
I have only ridden in California, Oregon, Washington and Missouri. What was law way back then sure could be challenged today but if your stopped along side the road you best have a factory brochure close at hand. Some county Mounties would stop you just to get a better look.
Steve
Yeah I'm sure about that. I worked for people that had a 290SL back in the late 70s so I should be ok in jersey. The grandfather thing but you never know.
Hey wjustice I didn't know you had a SL or are you looking for one? I had a bit of trouble trying to register mine here in Canada. I found a guy that had one registered here and I took a copy of it in with me. They punched it in the computer and gave me a plate. I would try to find a copy of one registered there if I was you.
