Saxonette Automatic Barn Find

I recently discovered this engine in my fathers barn as we are preparing his estate. The engine was in an old wooden box wrapped in wax/grease paper. I wiped it clean and pulled the rope and had good compression. I checked the spark, put some fuel into it and it fired up! The data plate has Fichtel & Sachs AG Schweinfurt on it along with Sachs 50/MA ABE X Aust B. From what I can find this was used by Artic Cat? Does anyone know? I have no need for this and wanted to know what people think it is worth and if I should put it on ebay? Thanks David

Looks like NOS. Worth plenty. Used on Arctic Cat, Fox and Coleman. One just sold for over $1,000 on ebay.

The recoil starter alone was selling for $350~ some years back. I haven't kept up since then, but they break easily, so are missing on most older engines and people are tracking down others.

No kidding! Why aren't these barns ever near me? The only barns in my extended family are full of broken screen doors, empty herbicide containers or junk I have to pay someone to haul away.

Wish my a$$ could find something like that. All the barn finds I have discovered usually cost more to rebuild/restore than what it's worth!
