Sears Roper Model Number: What does it mean?

#1
Hello all! My Sears Roper Mini Bike has been in the family for quite awhile (possibly since new) and I am hoping to post it for sale soon, after I learn a bit more about it of course.

The decal right behind the motor on the frame reads "131.807540".

What does this mean? The "131" relates to the manufacturer and type of motor, right?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

 I don't know the answer to your question but I never looked into it. Maybe someone here can shed some light on this for both of us. One of my Sears Drovers is 803-807221. Came with 3.5HP Sears Craftsman engine.

Its just the model number, theres not really a way to decipher it that I know of. the first 3 digits usually did specify something like Craftsman or Roper etc...

Is your bike the bare bones, no jackshaft, no front suspension Roper:

markus,

Hmm, good question. My bike does have a front suspension (a single spring on each side of the front tire), but I'm not sure about the jack shaft.

I went ahead and posted my bike for sale in the classifieds sections for complete bikes. Just decided that I should stop wasting time and do it.
