Never seen anything quite like it with a triangular frame and ‘tractor seat’. It has a 1950’s flair. What year is it?

The new seat looks huge compared to the old.

I knew your seat was different. Was the original rusted to pieces?

Best when viewed with an average adult male astride the bike.... kinda reinforces the notion that minibikes were invented by and designed for adults all along.

Great restoration! Yes it is a 1962. I used to own that exact same model with flat fenders and a single front suspension spring. That is the only simplex sportsman compact model I could find where the tank decal actually had a crown over the "V". If you look closely in the ad you shared you can see it. I thought that was kind of unique.
