Smokey Honda

#1
I got a 2nd hand GX120 (it was cheep) for my minibike project but the motor smokes (white smoke). It starts first pull every time, it runs well (it was running for about 1/2hr) it not over full with oil. Does anyone have any suggestions to make it smoke less.

Its likely To Be Burning Oil
Replace Rings, Could Be Bad Valve Guides, But most likely the rings have become worn, and its not sealing well oils slipping by and getting burned up making smoke.

Do you have access to a compression tester? You could see if the compressions really low, or even better would be a leakdown test

Not always, if they are really bed then id imagine so, that and lack of power, and a dozen other things.

See if you can check the compression,

Another thing, Is the breather full functional? and not plugged up?

Smoke B Gone

The cheapest route is to buy a bottle of Smoke B Gone, stuff works.

The best thing would be to put new rings in it.

if you re-ring it get a set of .010 over rings and file fit them to .004 gap, with the cylinder worn some this will give you tighter gaps than a stock size ring to take up any over bore from being worn thus resulting in better compression and power..
