Splash and muck guards for the MB200...

#1
Well they say that necessity is the mother of invention... Another recent project I completed was adding simple front and rear splash guards.... the OEM fenders weren't doing a good enough job imo keeping muck, mud, and debris off my engine.... I grew tired of hosing the engine down after a few days....

The sheet metal is just painted 22 gauge steel and I used U-bolts to secure it to the frame tubes. In the front, I used 4 ubolts, 2 on each down tube and in the rear I used 2 ubolts on the upright tube. I chose not to drill into the tubes because I knew from reading a lot of forums and from my experiences thus far that the materials in the MB200 are not top notch... The steels are most likely high impurity and very mild and thus I didn't want to take a chance in weakening the tubes by drilling holes. The ubolts may not look as good, but i love the results!!
