Lots of really good painting info in this thread.
I have used both rattle can and spray gun.
In all honesty. For some reason I can get a better paint job that lasts pretty well with rattle cans.
It isn't as hard as with the spray gun clear.
My thought is, make them pretty once.
After that, psssfftt..who cares.

Ive used JB weld in cylinder head intake ports and have never had a issue even with the ethanol although some epoxies do. in the tank was the epoxy covered in gas? Maybe that is the difference.

Yeah, it was at the fitting. I'd already powder coated the tank (mistake one) and had a leak at the bung. 3 qts of gas did its thing. I suspect atomized fuel won't cause the same problem.

Man, now I am uber scared of the plastic tank. Yikes.
Don't be...I picked up a slightly yellowed tank from a member and with some elbow grease devoted to careful cleaning I got it looking very good.
