Tecumseh 2 Strokes

Hey fellas, just curious if any of you have any experience putting clutches on the Tecumseh HSK-600 or the HSK-850... getting ready to finish a custom build and I've finally decided on the motor.. just curious about the clutch because the shaft is obviously two different sizes, pics would be great if possible, thanks

I have a bunch of these engines I believe they use a 5/8" clutch but you need to be aware that there is a step on the pto (at least on mine) that places the clutch way outboard on the shaft take this in consideration when fitting this engine to your build

This is a set up that I used on one build where I used a Tec 2 stroke, it actually worked out pretty good.

When I get home I will see if I can find one of the hsk600 engines a a clutch to show how outboard it will be without altering anything

You can get 1 1\2" of engagement before hitting the step

You could also disassemble motor and turn the crank down. Or machine a step on inside of clutch hub.

Yup, some clutches come apart with a snap ring... Some one with a lathe could chuck the hub up then bore the clutch hub out to fit the step,but it would depend on the brand of clutch as some might not have enough meat to work with....Love the jack shaft set up OND !....

On my mini vespa engine I turned it down with a file. It works well when there is no keyway to make the file jump around.
