The "What were they thinking!!?" Seat Thread
My first Mini was, ''I think'',, an early/mid 60's' Rupp - ''Conti''.
The jack shaft ect.,, was replaced with a 3 speed trans.,, & diaphram clutch,, which I have never seen another one.
That was around 50 years ago,, & from what I do remember of the clutch,, the pressure plate ''dome'',, looked something like from an old Triumph or BSA ect. ,, but ''of course'' smaller.
My Dad recovered the seat with the fabric,, from a Korean or WWII Army jacket.
Always hated the Olive drab ''green '' color of it,, but it served it purpose,, & he did a decent covering job,, regardless.
Really wish I still had that bike,, & the 70' Honda CT-70 as well ..
Have a pic of the Rupp somwhere,, hanging off the back of an RV,, & think it's on a photo flash drive that my Dad made up around 10 years ago,, when he could still do stuff like that ...
If I stumble across it @ some point,, I will post that pic.
