It will work without the governor. That is what I use. I have seen them for about 1/2 that price though unless I'm missing something significant.

I always use bicycle shifter cables because the end is right for the twist grip and you can get like 5 packs of various cables at Wally Wolrd for like 4 bucks.. :wink:
