i just got another ruttman, this one is a long frame i got from a guy on the forum, thanks ratfink!!!
i wanted to know if any one has put a torque converter on one of these?
if so what all is involved in doing so,pictures would be great!!how would
i do a brake setup with this and what size sprocket should i use at the
rear wheel.i am trying to get some more speed.my little ruttman has 12/72
sprockets, 6to1 ratio it will do obnoxious wheel stands but it only goes about 18/20 mph.
also please tell me if you think I'm crazy for wanting to do this

Ruttman did have a rare mini called a Spyder SS. They are super rare. I had a new one back in Feb. of 1970. It had a Torque converter. The brake was a 2 inch band brake that went on the back Jackshaft on a solid hub. You can duplicate it but I would have to get into some serious details . It is a rocket with the set up. .

Been there...done that. Use a rear band brake on a drumm for the opposite side of the sprocket and a 60T sprocket. No jackshaft needed.
