Inspecting a 5hp aluminum bore, I found this spring set up looking unfamiliar. Normally, the weaker intake spring is swapped out for a heavier, duplicate exhaust spring.
The 5 horse I just put on my tractor looked like that. I lifted them with a screwdriver and the exhaust "FELT" stiffer so I left them alone. The coils looked a little bit thicker on the exhaust, but I didn't measure anything.
