You know the Marshall Tucker band was one of my favorites in the 70's.

They we're from around Spartanburg SC, which was only 45 miles south, of where I grew up, in Gastonia NC.

Oddly, I never got to see them live, but saw Lynyrd Skynyrd, from much further away, 5 or 6 times before the plane crash.

Wish I'd have seen Marshall Tucker live.

AM radio stations played this song a bazillion times during its heyday. Bouncey happy sounding tune. Probably one of the most misunderstood lyrics songs as well. We could start an entire thread with mis-heard lyrics.
I always thought the Judy in disguise was a powdered up girl looking better all made up than she looked without the jewelry and fancy clothes.
My interpretation of the lyric was always" cantaloupe ass come to me tonight, Judy in disguise"

One of my kids favorite bands is BOC....we saw them last sunday at the Royal Oak Music theater . I have to tell you they flat out rocked the place!! That is the 2nd time we saw them and this by far was a heavy rock show. see them if you can..
