What happens when valve cap falls in the motor?

I was putting the 18lb valve springs in a predator motor and dropped the cap for the retainer. Looked every where with no luck. Even held the bike upside-down and did some shaking. Can only guess it's in the motor. Is there an easy way to check inside the motor?

Easy, I have an endoscope that plays over my phone.

Not a short term fix but you can pick a cheap one up off amazon or flebay ($10ish). Has saved my tail a few times.


Correct me if I'm wrong but aint those keepers steel? Maybe a small magnet down the intake?

Thanks for the scope idea. I've been needing a reason to get one. Tried the magnet with no luck.

If you dropped the lash caps and can't see it in the head it probably fell down in either the return hole or along side of one of the push rods... Don't run the motor .. probing with a small magnet you might find it
