Which motor for this bike?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the minibike world and would like some advice on a motor
for this mini chopper I picked up yesterday. A couple of people have
told me I need a side mount motor? Is this any briggs motor like off a
tiller or something? All I need to know is what all motors will work and the
best one that would work for it and then I'll get to looking around for one. Thanks for any and all advice!

By the way, I picked this up for only $50 bucks!

I'm tempted to go get the HF 6.5 Predator...the only thing holding me back
is wanting to keep the bike with an "old school" look to it. I feel like the
plastic of the motor and modern day look would ruin it...what do you guys
think? Are there any super cheap mods to do to it to make it look old school?

I'd go with a flathead Tec or Briggs. Cheap & plentiful.


It'd probably keep it closer to be what it was intended.

As tall as the triple tree appears to set, I bet it would swallow a 125-150cc horizontal engine with ease; and pass for a miniature Japanese retro style bike all day long.
