I am having a hard time determining what Decade my Hm100 was built. Hm100 159182P 9186D Was it built in 1969-1979-1989 or1999 How do you tell when you have just the engine and nothing else. I know it was built on the 186th day shift D but can't figure out the decade.

VKE says the star engine and the standard production hm100 are different engines with internal parts that will not interchange. Can anyone elaborate on this for me and is the a production based engines suitable for a star clone build? Thanks.

So I was given an hm100 and it has a tapered shaft I haven't been able to find a replacement for it. Has anyone had luck finding one or coming up with an alternative ? I plan on putting it on my boonie, I haven't had a chance to see if it fits but I think it will.
