repairing

Briggs 4 HP 100232 series with Pulsa-jet adjustable carburetor with slide choke, part #297599. Trying to get the fuel pick up tubes sorted. The shorter plastic one has broken off where it screws into the bottom of the carb. I'm not too worried about it as I will eventually drive out the stub...

I chipped all the plastic shell off the glass inner because the body was busted up and the plastic was all cracked... so after I get all the plastic chipped off the fiberglass has a covering of dry hairs that didn't get saturated with resin, so DA-ing those off was the first step...but now I can...

I'm working on a throttle assy and some good sized airpockets showed up after some mods were made to the housing. Is welding or soldering etc. doable, or will it distort the assy? Worst case I could JB weld it and smooth it out but thats gonna kinda defeat the purpose as I want it to be...

I remember reading a pretty good write-up on repairing kickstands when they wear out, and allow the bike to fall over. Just did a few searches, and I can't find that thread. Can anyone help? I remember it had some great tips in it, and I need to make repairs. Thanks in advance- H Dave
