1962 Bug Super Flea

Comparable trades {a KILLER Bonanza maybe?} or something BIGGER that's rare and REAL nice, plus $ considered. $3,500.00 ca$h owns it, plus shipping. It was recently photographed for & featured in the exotic car magazine "DrivenWorld" {see pics}. A little history on the bike...Tommy Parsons {retired owner of K&P, the company who originally built this bike} recalled that this was 1 of 9 Bug Super Flea's with this particular frame & engine combo built by his father in 1962. The original West Bend 580 V5 (5 port) racing engine w/Tillotson carburetor was completely & professionally rebuilt by Dave Bonbright in Sonoma, Ca., the #1 West Bend engine builder in the U.S.A.. Dave said this engine is exceedingly rare, and was in production for only six months. It has been fine tuned and run less than 1/2 hr. since that rebuild. It fires up immediately, sounds GREAT, and runs like a banshee. It was a one-owner bike when purchased, and underwent a full restoration which included the following: The original frame color was color-matched, media blasted, & powder coated. The original "Hands" wheels {with tapered Timken bearings} were rock tumbled to restore the correct factory finish. The original FAT 12" General "Jumbo Jr." tires are in excellent condition. The impossible to find original gas tank was cleaned & powder coated the original color {gloss black}. The original throttle assembly was re-chromed and a new cable installed. The original "Hunt Wilde" Grips are intact and in excellent condition. The original disc brake handle was re-chromed and a new cable installed. The original disc brake unit was completely rebuilt with new pads installed {original pads included}. The original rear sprocket was turned downed to clean/true up the face. The original Mercury clutch was cleaned & re-chromed. It works flawlessly. The original air cleaner and intake were also both chromed. A new custom seat was made {shown on bike}, but the super nice ORIGINAL seat is included {last photo}. Unfortunately, the original fiberglass fenders were lost during the restoration. It runs, rides, and sounds as good as it looks.

I couldn't help but notice the chain adjustment is all used up.

Would you throw in a new chain?

Awesome man, as with all your stuff.

Wow that is still a beautiful bike! Why would your ever sell it? Its a spectacular example of a very rare machine. You should post it on some of the vintage kart sites; that would be a great pit bike for a vintage karter...
