Thanks Tippy and Count. Im liberating a Craftsman 7.8 tonight to put on the doodle that ill be working on. I think it has a tapered shaft....This could be interesting

Why not? Clean it up real good, put a 3/4" cardboard sleeve around the shaft, turn engine on its side, pack with JB weld. Voila! No more taper!

Although I am joking, that might work!:scared:

JB Weld might work..ya never know till ya try . About 35-40 yrs ago I got a newer Briggs engine for my motorbike. I say "motorbike" because it was a Schwinn Sting Ray with a 3hp Briggs mounted to it. Anyhow,my cent.clutch (v-belt) was 5/8" and the new engine had a 3/4"shaft,so I fired that puppy up and took a flat file to that shaft while it was running!! Bam...instant fit lol My friends said it'll never work...well it did.
They make adapters too :thumbsup:

AHHHHHHH I WAS BITTEN AGAIN, well i have like 26 fire ant bitse that SUCK but imy mini fever came back, I moved across the US for a few months now but in 2 months ill be back in my loving VA Beach. Back to business, Time to start getting parts for my doddle when i get home i wanna RIDE
