bonanza 1500 manual foot brake

Well, That bike i picked up had a rear foot brake but it wasn't original. I have few articles in MBG that shows the rear foot brake but nothing in detail. I know of one that exist and that guy is in the process of having them reproduced as a kit. They should be done July but we will see how that goes. The rear foot brake was necessary when a front brake was used on a hodaka powered bike.

nice, find. I know the guy who bought that in PA. The hodaka kick starter would hit the foot brake at the JS area. Would could only get a quarter kick out of it. Maybe it was very close to the design tho.

I am still looking for a photo of the optional foot brake lever set up that was used on hodaka models when the optional front brake was added. The hodaka models had a clutch lever so it couldn't be added to the handle bars via a lever. There is a photo of one on an mx1510 but it's not clear how it worked. Looks like the brake was used with the left foot and went through or behind the jackshaft plate to a rod that pulled the brake drum lever. I'm wanting to replicate one as close to original as I can. I am working on a front brake setup also but I have that covered. If a non member has a setup or picture of a setup or information on one or wants to sell an original setup and is reading this please email me aaronfriedl@yahoo.com
