the engine keeps dieing when i open the choke. only way to keep it from dieing is to give it gas when i open the choke. would boiling the carb for like 5 min in water clean it and make it like new again? i would be using air compresser to blow it out? need some help tired of it dieing.

Take the bowl off the carb and where the bolt goes (one that holds bowl on)theres a jet.Take a tiny wire (paperclip,very small one)and push it through the hole in the jet (your trying to clean the passage out).This passage gets clogged and it wont run or runs only with choke on.Ive got 2 Briggs inteks and have done this to both of them.

ive done this more than once and still does the same thing but after a while of riding it may and may not keep idle a half choke.

Try cleaning the carb out with carb cleaner then blow it out with air and see if it helps you might want the check the spark plug and see what it looks like
