Cat Slingshot 350 Purchase...

#1
Look what I got yesterday off of Craigslist for $180...

The guy I bought if off of said he had it in storage for 10 years and he bought it from a vehicle guy that worked at Disney. According to him, the bike was used in Disney parades in the early 70's. It is in great shape. Has a nice patina and has all the original stickers. It does not have the original motor though. I'm thinking this was a pretty good deal, cuz I needed a 3.5 Briggs anyways and now I've got a motor and a great roller to return to it's former glory. What do you guys think... any recommendations as to how I should go about restoring it?

Don't restore it! It is already in amazing condition! If anything just drop in the period correct motor and you're done! If you do want to restore it though, I would clean up the handlebars or get them re chromed, then clean up the wheels.

I second what he said. If the paint looks that nice..leave it alone. Real nice find!

That is what I was thinking too. The paint is about a 10 footer. It has some scratches, but I think it ads to the character of the bike.

Awesome find !!! Currently working on a Slingshot myself.
I would leave the paint if it is decent. As said above find a Tec H35 for it.
Looks like you will need to find fenders killswitch plate and the the clutch guard.
The chrome on the forks will probably clean up pretty well with a little elbow grease. Great purchase
