Putting on a brand new #40 chain today on a kart and could not get the master link on though, it simply wasn't long enough
After thinking it was just me and trying multiple times making sure the link was seated fully I finally gave up and dug through my workbench to find another #40 master link, held it up beside the one provided and sure enough it was wider. Looks like I got a 41/420 style master with a 40 chain.
Put on the correct master and was done in about 10 seconds
Nothing more frustrating then getting the wrong parts in a brand new package, was tempted to bring the whole chain back but since I had the spare masters figured it wasn't worth the drive
