Cu In to HP conversion

Does anyone have a Cu In to HP conversion Chart?

example: 6 cu in = ? hp

it doesnt really work that way. too many other variables. cubic inches is only partly to blame for your horsepower. compression ratio, valvetrain, intake/exhaust.

With Briggs and stratton the Ci In is stamped on the head and can tell you what HP your engine was when stock.

all of the Briggs serial number tables that I found showed that the 6 in the serial number indicated that it was a 6 cubic inch engine.

I would assume that it is a 2hp?

and a 8 in the serial number would be a 8 cubic inch therefore a 3 hp???

It's either a 2hp or a 2 1/2. (I think)

60102= 2hp,1st design series,horizontal vacujet carb,plain bearing,rewind starter.

Briggs used engine and carb size for the HP ratings
Some of the same size engine had different carbs so they had different factory HP readings.
