DB30 Throttle Help!

#1
Ok, so my lil brother was riding my db, he wrecked it scratched it up, and it yanked the throttle cable out. :sadcrying4: He's alright, just a bit scraped up. :doah:

So my cousin and I tried to fix it, and it just didn't seem to be performing as well as before, the throttle was sticky, it didn't accelerate as quick; took a long time for the clutch to engage, etc. And, I'm fairly certain it's the throttle since, when you do the ole' reach down it goes perfect.

I'd like to find out how to re-hook the throttle up properly, without it having any of the above symptoms.

I've got a couple pictures, if it helps at all...

The damage:

And, just for looks.

If you need anymore pictures to help just ask!

Thanks, Green Jelly.

Fix

Looking at the top 2 pictures you can see the throttle cable is way loose.
So when you turn the throttle it only opens it a bit.

Loosen the cable lock nut
Turn adjusters almost all the way in.
Make sure the outer cable covering is in the adjuster end properly!
Pull inner cable up tight. use pliers.
re tighten cable clamp nut
Turn adjuster out until snug.
Should fix it right up.

Fairly old thread, I managed to get it fixed, but I sold that engine, and dropped a 6.5 clone in that db with cjtminis kit.

Thanks for all the help though.
