Engine vibration

#1
I just picked up a Ruttman with a 4HP Tecumseh. I have it running pretty good but there is a bad vibration through out the frame at top rpm. Even in a stationary position with the rear tire off the ground, the vibration starts in the upper rpm and is enough to ring your hands on the handle grips. Should I look for a problem with the Flywheel? I'm assuming this can't be good on the engine.

Thanks

You have to watch out with some of those older motors. A lot of them were not balanced very well to begin with. There can be so many different things, piston loose in the cylinder, or any of the internal parts may have came from a donor motor. And it can also be the flywheel?

If you really want to keep the motor it's best to get it check out by a pro.

I'm guessing that your turning the motor higher than the stock 3,600 RPM recomendations?
