Finding top dead center

So I'm trying to set the valve lash on my 6.5 Honda clone.

How do I determin TDC on the compression stroke?

I used a flash light and watched the piston till it was at the top. But I'm not sure weather it's the compression stoke or not.

To do it right you'll need to put a temporary pointer on the flywheel. But to just set the valves, close to top dead center is fine. Just make sure your on the TDC after the intake valve closes.

So after the exhaust valve closes and the pistons on the way back up?

I corrected that, the TDC after the intake valve closes.

Okay, so after the intake valve closes, and the piston comes back up. Then I can set me valve lash?

poke a screwdriver in the plug hole and watch where it ends

When I spin the flywheel the exhaust valve opens and closes fine, but the intake valve seems to get really stiff and I'm afraid to force it.

Did you put a high lift cam in it? Are you experiencing valve spring coil bind?

It's the factory cam. All I did is replace the springs and rocker arms for 18lbs. I am having coil bind.

Are the rocker arms a higher ratio than stock?

I'm not sure what that means.

The rods are stock.

Why did you replace the rocker arms?

They came with the stage two hop up kit from NR-racing.com

Can you take a picture of the valve train when the engine starts getting hard to turn and post it? I need to see whats going on. And are you sure the cam timing is correct?
