Ratrods reminds me of the first Honda civics. They had a twin cylinder 450cc engine , air cooled motorcycle engine with a long chain that went to the rear axle. Inside the car there was a transmission hump was what the chain drive was in.

The first Honda Civic was 1973 powered by a 599cc motor.

You're both probably thinking of the Honda n600. Which had 354cc, 401cc and 598cc all 2syl.
First civic, the smallest engine was 1,1liter.
