Garage Photo Fun

My pal is bringing over two of his bikes to shoot tonight. Very neat machines and I'm excited for the opportunity. My minis are buried deep in my trailer and it will be several more days before I get to them. Here's my '09 Yamaha that I shot last night.

My pal brought his two sweet street bikes into the shop / studio (shopio?) last night. He has a 1984 Honda CX650E, a model that was never sold in the USA, and a 1991 Ducati 900SS. The Honda is in amazing original condition, with 40,000 kilometers (25,000 miles) on the odo. The Ducati was recently repainted to the highest standard in the original red color. Its white frame and white wheels still wear the original finish.

...Lets see some mowers too. I may have something you might want.
Thanks for the kind words. Mowers are coming! I'm working through the pile of stuff that was displaced when I emptied my garage to paint it, and my old power reel mowers are near the bottom of the heap. I'm new to studio photography, and really enjoying it a lot on these cold rainy days of December in Oregon. I usually shoot outdoors.

'78 Yamaha DT400E. This bike is in the future project lineup. It's been sitting for a long time, and even has a Goodyear front tire. Goodyear hasn't made motorcycle tires in ages.

Tom, that is a clean bike there. Hard to find the old endure bikes in this kind of shape, especially in the PNW. Beautiful photos as usual. You are truly an artist. If I were living closer, I'd pay you to photograph my bikes.

Okay.....Great pic as always but I have to ask. I see the kickstand up. Sooooo what is holding it up?

Haha. Good eye. Here's the magic. Don't tell anyone. I just put my push broom between the bike and the wall. The bike is leaning slightly towards the wall, against the broom handle. It was quite precarious and had to be very careful not to bump into it while I adjusted the lighting.

I had to ask and it made for a great effect! You do realize that you are now going to have to add a "photography wing" to the garage now that you are having so much fun in the new space... Keep posting the pics they are very enjoyable. Bike Porn......
