how do i make a tecomseh hs40 kill switch

how do i make a tecomseh hs40 kill switch ? it engine has a sparkplug ground out . not too safe for the kids in an emergency. can i connect a wire to the sparkplug ?

if your motor has points then you can hook a wire to the points under the flywheel and run it to a ground out switch and that will kill it .if it dont have points then there should be a tab on the coil to hook the kill wire to , you cant hook a wire to the plug and kill it that way , with out getting a big big shock . i have tryed that it was not the best of ideas i had as a kid .ut:ut:ut:ut:

right on. i just did this to my sons hs40. pop the flywheel and run a wire from the points to the switch. works great. mine didn't have a tab on the coil.... it originally had a metal tab to slide over and short out the spark plug! i felt your pain the first time i tried that method....
