hs40 rupp diaphram carb

#1
Just starting working a roadster2 (early 71) that I have it has been sitting a few years. Put new oil in it and fresh gas. second pull the engine turned over for 10 seconds then died. would not restart again.
is this a carb problem? cant seem to take the spark plug out does the whole engine need to be unbolted? anyone else have more info with the diaphram carb regarding adjustments .?

Definitely wouldn't hurt to clean the carb and put a kit in it. Wish I had the pt# since I have the same carb for my early model R2. Contact Brandt at Ruppparts.com , he should have info for it.

For the spark plug, I have an offset boxed end wrench to get it out. The correct plug is a champion CJ8 gapped at .030 and I noticed Lowe's carries them.
