i heard that real stock hondas rev higher the stock honda clones. is this true? im starting to think it is because i got whooped by a stock honda 6.5 with 2 people on it and i was riding on my lightly modded 160 clone.

Depends........... Which honda clone? I have seen some of the garbage ones not get over 3k it seems. My Lifans seemed do a damn good job going up against any 6.5 engine including hondas.


Is your Gov linkage bent at all? Did the guy you go up against have his gov removed? What gearing do you both have?

All that adds up.

I have a 5.5 C.M.T. clone made by ??????? It has a throttle stop screw. It actually keeps the throttle from moving far enough to fully open the butterfly. I backed it out til the butterfly fuuly opened and it did make a difference.

if its on your big bike could be gearing put on some g200 valve springs and shave the timing key also use gx200 head gasket prt head concentrate on the ssr

Your comparing a 6.5hp to a 5.5hp motor. That's the only difference.

It doesn't matter the brand.
The Honda is better quality, stronger parts, but that's all.
