it was! we showed up sunday morning and the place was closed! called roscoe and he said they had to find a new place to race. seems polk county code inforcement was called and they shut it down, sorry to everyone I didn't know. anyway the oct 22nd race at the Lakeland drag strip is still on for us so plan to go to that!
Hey Nate, can you reconfirm that we are still on for Lakeland? I've emailed Ozzy numerous times and have never received a response. I've also called about 8 times in the last few weeks... spoke with a lady that kept asking me to try back later. Spoke with her again just now and she said Wade does the scheduling and knows nothing about it either. She said if it was going to happen they would have it on their website schedule. I emailed Ozzy again today as well.
I just want to make sure before I go swapping tires etc. :doah:
heres the scoop. Jennifer said that there is nothing planned for the 22nd for anyone since the billitproof was canceled. the track will be closed unless they can get something set up. I gave her my info and she said she would get back with me asap. in the meantime I'm going to contact sunshine and see if they don't mind us blasting down their track if the Lakeland date doesn't happen
just talked to rick at sunshine dragstrip. he said that our minibikes are welcome to run there on wed nights 6-10. leather jacket, full face helmet, jeans, boots, leather gloves. full leathers if your stupid fast(to be determined). I will be contacting all who want to race and set up a date when to. the florida minibike drag racing league is what were called and will be working out the kinks of this organization till the end of the year. come January we will be trying to race once or twice a month depending on turnout. we have a really nice dirt drag place in Valrico and will let you know when to come out there
read the email from billitproof they never gave a reason for the cancelation. I'm not sure but I think there may be something going on at Lakeland dragstrip. Jennifer said there were some things they were trying to work out with the track,sounded weird kinda like there was a financial problem or something. like I said that's pure conjecture so.... the Valrico place is the Hillsborough county fairgrounds. tom and his manager are pro motorcycle people and want a show to be there. once the October fall festival is over I'm going out to see if we can get a nice dirt drag surface and make sure its safe enough to race. theres grandstands,pa,covered building for pits with restrooms the works the place is awesome. will let you know when were going out there to test will invite everyone to test and race there

my friend tom that has the vtwin doodlebug is pissed. he cant even get in the ball park with those speeds lol he can run in the 60 mph range, I think hes going to start spending money lol. I have two videos posted on you tube from last weekend. we were fooling around with the bikes on a dirt road. my bike wasn't jetted at the time and could only make half throttle before going rich. look for minibike dirt draggers or minibike dirt drags at supervcycle channel. didn't have my video artist this pass weekend to video the 85mph passes but will have it soon
